Strata-G Solutions is hiring a Mechanical Quality Inspector/CMM Programmer at our Manufacturing facility in Huntsville, AL.
Strata-G believes there are significant benefits to adopting flexible work options for our employees and has implemented a Compressed Work Schedule of four 10-hour workdays in our Manufacturing facility.
Performs a variety of physical and visual inspections of products and services to determine conformity quality to requirements. Uses quality inspection specialty tools and equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines. Implements new quality control practices. Documents inspection and test results and provides the status of in-progress inspections and testing.
Documents deficiencies and ensures compliance with process travelers during receipt, in-process, and final inspection activities.
Provides surveillance and complies with established QMS procedures and recommends improvement, where needed.
Performs receiving inspection, test, and or examination of products and services received from subcontractors to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements, documentation is as required, and the product is identified as required.
Interfaces with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and customer/vendors to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems.
Properly completes company and customer paperwork as needed.
Stands, walks, climbs and sits. Must be able to use inspection instruments, tools and computers. May be required to lift heavy loads; following safety guidelines. Assist co-workers in other areas when needed.
Qualifications Required:
Must be able to read and interpret technical data, drawings, schematics and specifications.
Must be knowledgeable in the application of mechanical inspection techniques.
Must know how to use inspection tools, such as: micrometers, calipers, radius gages, height gages, etc.
Must have CMM experience using PC-DMIS or CMM Manager at an intermediate to expert level.
Qualifications Desired:
3 years CMM experience
5 years Quality Inspection experience
Experience with optical comparators and Portable CMM's (Articulating Arms/Faro Arms)
Minimum Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED is required. A degree in science, math or engineering or equivalent is desired.
Must have experience using and interpreting GD&T.
Must have 2 years of experience in quality product inspection.
