Career Opportunity: Assistant Controller with Janus Hotels & Resorts in Cincinnati, Ohio
Are you an experienced Accounting professional? Are you looking for an expanding opportunity that will allow you grow and develop your finance experience? If so, we have the opportunity for you.
As the Assistant Controller with Janus Hotels, you will provide general accounting assistance to the organization such as reconciliation of assigned general ledger and/or bank accounts, researching expense variances, and ensuring accuracy of financial statements. This will be an expanding role that will also assist with the management of the weekly and monthly financial reporting of the ownership of Janus Hotels. You will provide financial reports for external relationships and auditor requests, as well as ensure accurate accounting of the owner’s personal business and investments, including the statement for the company and trusts/family trusts.
Qualifications
To be considered, you will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance
- Five years’ experience with a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with real estate assets, preferred
- Experience with internal controls and/or process documentation
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong critical thinking skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Maintain a high level of dependability and reliability
- Effectively execute transactional and administrative tasks, especially processing information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially involving process documentation
- Ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively, written and verbal, in order to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a high level of continuous process improvement to ensure efficiency and compliance in Accounting/Finance activities.
