What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afterschool Enrichment Instructor position at Strategic Kids?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Strategic Kids LEGO Instructors teach K-5 Grade children LEGO based Engineering and Storytelling principals at public, private, and charter schools around Bellingham area.
EXPERIENCE
Applicants should have experience with building with LEGO, and working/volunteering with children. Preferred experiences include teaching groups of elementary ages children, classroom management skills, and having a grasp of Basic Engineering concepts.
WORK SCHEDULE
Work three or more days per week, M-F, afterschool. Most classes meet between 2:00pm to 5:00pm! Thursday is 12:00pm to 2:00pm. New classes open up during the school year and summer. Many classes are eight or more weeks and 60 minutes each week.
HOURLY RATE
$23 per hour
Strategic Kids pays an additional 30 minutes for set up and clean up at each school.
PAID MILEAGE
Strategic Kids pays daily Enrichment Instructor rates for mileage of $10 to $20, based on the distance driving ($10 daily, or $15 if the drive is 15 miles from home to school, or $20 if the drive is 20 miles from home to school).
MATERIALS
Instructors will be given Strategic Kids resources, from LEGO bins to Chess supplies or instructional videos, so that you will be ready to teach students! All Enrichment Instructors will be given all necessary materials.
REQUIREMENTS
> 18 years old or older
> Speak English
> Have a reliable car to drive to assigned school(s)
> Pass Fingerprint Background check (paid for by Strategic Kids)

SCHOOL-YEAR WORK
There are instructor opportunities to work during the school-year and year-round at summer camps or special tournament events!
