Job Description:
The Transportation Manager will oversee and manage all student, staff, and VIP transportation services at the FLETC Charleston Complex. This position is responsible for logistics planning, fleet management, dispatch operations, and vehicle maintenance tracking. The Transportation Manager will also ensure compliance with safety protocols while providing an efficient and reliable transportation system for all personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily transportation operations, including airport pickups, hotel transfers, and campus shuttle services.
- Oversee dispatch operations and ensure proper scheduling of buses and shuttle services.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance logs, ensuring safety compliance and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Handle special transportation requests, such as VIP tours, emergency evacuations, and off-site events.
- Coordinate with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to modify transportation schedules as needed.
- Supervise transportation staff and drivers, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and performance standards.
- Maintain weekly and monthly transportation reports to track operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of experience managing transportation services for a facility similar in size to FLETC Charleston.
- At least one (1) year of specific experience in managing transportation-type services.
- Basic computer skills to input and retrieve data, generate reports, and manage schedules.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to handle logistics and personnel management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
