Position Summary

Stratton Mountain Resort is seeking experienced serving team members. The server position requires an individual that is a team player, possess agility, flexibility, and excellent communication skills. A server will consistently display a friendly demeanor while providing anticipatory guest service in a fast-paced environment. The server must be proficient in steps to service, basic bar knowledge, and food safety practices. Stratton Mountain Resort currently has both full-time and part-time opportunities available for this role. The position will be paid at $8.75/hr tips.

Essential Duties

• Provide exceptional guest service in a fast pace changing environment
• Use POS system to place orders and process payments in accordance with the company Cash Handling Policy.
• Actively supports and contributes to all workstations including but not limited to host stand, expo window, service bar, dish pit, etc.
• Maintains a clean and presentable work environment while adhering to food safety and sanitation practices.
• Executes opening and closing duties as directed, including but not limited to cleaning, re-stocking, polishing silverware, rolling silverware, or folding napkins, removal of trash, recycling, compost, etc.
• Effectively communicates with the culinary team to ensure orders are entered and delivered in a timely manner with accuracy.
• Displays exceptional menu knowledge and can confidently assist and accommodate guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions with the utmost care and concern.
• Other duties as assigned by shift supervisor.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years prior serving experience required

• Cash handling experience

• Ability to lift and walk with at least 30 pounds

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Food Service Environment

• Most work tasks are performed in indoor/outdoor environments. Temperature is not controlled in all work environments, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length at a time over an average shift of 8 hours.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to climb or balance and taste or smell.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
