Bakery Clerk Responsibilities
We are in search of a part-time Bakery Clerk. This position will primarily be early afternoon and evening work. To be a successful Bakery Clerk, a person should be efficient and friendly with a focus on food quality and customer satisfaction. You should be organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of customer service.
- Provide efficient and friendly service responding to customer requests and filling orders with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Operate commercial oven and bread slicer.
- Prepare custom espresso drinks and smoothies.
- Prepare, pack and label products.
- Popcorn production including popping popcorn, steam kettle, cooling machine, and packaging.
- Manage quality control of products on floor. Organize, rotate, and replenish products on the sales floor.
- Efficiently multi-task duties throughout the day.
- Move bakery product from shipping and receiving, or in-house bakery, to storage and/or bakery prep station.
- Set up or replace signage for bakery products sold.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the bakery department, while also following sanitation and food safety guidelines.
Requirements & Availability
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
- Follow basic recipes and baking instructions.
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs working in cooler/freezer storage areas including required overhead and lower shelf reaching, bending and stooping moving 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of bakery items sold within the department.
- Standing work on tile or concrete for duration of shift.
- Operate computer, printer, and label machine.
