The Opportunity
My client, a publicly traded diversified energy company, headquartered in Western New York, is looking to add a Financial Auditor to their accounting/finance team. This position is a great career opportunity for an accomplished accounting professional to leverage their experience and create a career path for growth. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Responsibilities
The Financial Auditor is an important part of the accounting function and governance structure of the organization. Responsibilities include:
- Examining, evaluating and documenting the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and operating procedures.
- Monitoring internal controls over financial reporting as part of National Fuel’s compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
- Identifying and communicating opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes, ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, and are often requested to participate as consultants on special project assignments.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be an accomplished professional with at least 4-5 years of public accounting experience or related accounting experience in the public/private sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong working knowledge of accounting/auditing practices, principles and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work successfully in a deadline driven environment
- CPA or CIA licensure is desirable, but not required
- Experience with Data Analytics is a plus
At this time, the good faith estimate of the annual base salary range for this position is $60,500 to $100,000, plus annual bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package. Where a successful applicant is slotted within this range will vary based on legitimate criteria, such as professional experience, licensures, industry specific experience and education level.
