Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Specialist will work as part of the Career Path Team and support the student enrollment process for new and returning graduates. The Admissions Specialist will have primary responsibility to manage intake, student assessments, registrations, info sessions and orientations, and all corresponding calendars. The specialist will work across Birmingham programs to assist the organization in reaching their admission goals. This is a in-office position, employees must be vaccinated against COVID.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Program Director to assess enrollment goals.
- Manage admissions and engaged enrollment process for new participants.
- Facilitate information sessions, recruitment presentations, orientation sessions, and complete the onboarding process for prospective enrollees.
- Create and cultivate a welcoming environment for new and existing participants.
- Provide weekly data reports from information session attendance, application submissions, and program interests.
- Maintain a community partnership distribution list for recruitment efforts.
- Maintain communication processes throughout the recruitment pipeline.
- Establish relationships with targeted community groups that serve our specific population needs.
- Research and attend community events for recruitment purposes.
- Perform essential recruitment duties during weekends and evenings, as needed
- Ex: Saturday recruitment events, after hours city council/neighborhood events

- Assist with data entry into all relevant electronic organizational software systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working with populations with barriers to employment.
· Experience with individuals who face long term unemployment, recidivism, and/or substance abuse preferred
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Attention to detail
· Self-directed and motivated; able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a small team
· Microsoft Suite proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Ability to handle high pressure and high-volume workload
· Professional demeanor
· Data analytical skills preferred
