**JOB PURPOSE**
The position of Electrician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks including routing harnesses and/or cables through truck frames and cabs along with the installation of basic electrical components (generators, inverters, lights, switches, relays, etc.). The employee must be able to read and understand blue prints, layouts and electrical schematics.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY**
- Knowledge of AC and DC electrical theory.
- Familiar with the functions and installation of 12 volt and 120 volt components and circuits. (generators, lights, switches, relays, etc.).
- Must have the ability to follow electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
- Must have the ability to install new equipment by installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment using hand tools and test equipment.

- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical problems and be able to completely inspect all vehicles after installation.
- Repair electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, troubleshooting, inspecting, and testing abilities required.
- Repair and replace faulty electrical components by using testing equipment and hand tools to install relays, switches, motors, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by competent authority.
- Must be punctual, have good work ethic.
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast paced production environment.
- Ability to define and solve problems without assistance.
- Self-starter with a high degree of problem solving skills and deductive reasoning.
- Employees are to supply required tools and ANSI approved toe protection footwear.
- Must be able to read, understand, and speak the English language.
- Education/** Required: 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.
**Credentials**
- Preferred**: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and certificate from an accredited technical or trade school.
- **Preferred:** Minimum of 1 year experience installing and testing electrical components and parts.
**Knowledge/**
**Skills**
- Required:** Must have knowledge of AC & DC with experience of installation of 12 volt and 120 volt components and circuits. Good general mechanical aptitude, including the skill to use basic hand and measuring tools and electrical testing equipment.
- Preferred:** Working knowledge of truck industry with automotive and truck electrical experience.
