What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Project Coordinator position at STS Technical Services?

STS Technical Services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Electrical Project Coordinator to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring that our electrical projects run smoothly by coordinating materials, managing project statuses, and collaborating closely with design, purchasing, and production teams. Key Responsibilities:
  • Material & Information Management: Review Requests for Material (RFM) and Requests for Information (RFI) from the production floor. Process requests independently or direct them to the appropriate person.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor and report on project statuses, proactively working to reduce the number of RFMs and RFIs.
  • Coordination: Coordinate material pricing and availability with design and purchasing teams. Act as an extension of the purchasing team within the electrical group.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory parts, ensuring that materials are available and staged for production.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers to gather and provide relevant electrical information. Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure that job materials are properly staged.
  • Material Handling: Assist with material handling as needed and track missing electrical materials post-shipment to ensure timely fulfillment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Ability to efficiently use Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with vendors through the RFQ (Request for Quote) process.
  • Organizational Skills: Self-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Physical Capability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and drive between area facilities using a personal vehicle (mileage will be compensated).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Education: 2-4 years of education in electrical technology, construction management, business management, project management, or a related STEM field.
Preferred Skills:
  • ERP System Experience: Familiarity with ERP systems like Epicor or similar is a plus.
  • Electrical Product Knowledge: Understanding of electrical products (e.g., conduit, wire, cable, fittings) or a willingness to learn.
  • National Electric Code Knowledge: Familiarity with the NEC (National Electric Code) is preferred, but a willingness to learn is also valued.
