Accountant Senior - Deltek Costpoint

STS International is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant with strong Deltek Costpoint experience to oversee the daily operations of our accounting division at our Arlington, Virginia office.  STS is a Veteran Owned small business primarily serving the Department of Defense and Federal Agencies. 

This position will be based out of our Arlington, VA office.  All candidates must be within the Arlington, VA commuting area or be willing to relocate at his/her expense. Our office is within easy walking distance of the Crystal City Metro Station. 

• Maintain compliant accounting records in accordance with FAR Part 31, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), as applicable.
• Process daily, monthly and annual financial reports, tax return schedules, bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Manages and analyzes financial information to prepare reports, make general ledger entries, and review and verify accuracy of journal entries.
• Administer Costpoint project setup to include: contract and sub-contract management, user access controls and security settings; project assignments; reporting,
• Process and maintain accounts receivable and payable utilizing Costpoint
• Process semi-monthly multi-state and OCONUS payroll.
• Ability to analyze and prepare income and balance sheet statements, profit and loss statements, and other accounting statements and reports.
• Maintain general accounting systems to provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.
• Successfully implement and maintain all STS business financial accounting systems to comply with up-to-date DCMA, FARS and DFARS rules
• Collaborates with tax advisors to optimize tax planning strategies and liabilities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Demonstrated ability to apply strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices in a government contracting and professional services environment.
• Extensive compliance experience with DCMA, FARS and DFARS rules and regulations
• Deltek Cospoint modules: Materials, People, Time & Expense, Reports & Analytics, and Admin
• Demonstrated ability to work well and communicate with all levels of management, vendors as well as employees.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a U.S. Government contracting environment.
• Deltek Costpoint configuration to include contract WBS set up.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting DoD contracts, including cost-type, T&M/LH, and fixed-price contracts.
• Direct experience working with DCMA and DCAA, including audit support, data requests, and follow-up actions.
• Prior experience supporting a small business defense contractor, including operating in a lean accounting organization.
• Experience supporting the subcontractor progress payment reliance and resolving governmental processing delays.
• Experience with: Costpoint configuration and administration (contract setup, WBS, user roles, reporting); Multi-state and OCONUS payroll processing; sub-contractor invoice review and cost validation
• Familiarity with DCMA audit practices, accounting compliance reviews and ACO communications.
