Sturgis Charter Public School is actively seeking a dedicated Special Education Inclusion/Math Specialist to join our team. This position primarily focuses on providing targeted inclusion support in the classroom setting while collaborating closely with the content teachers and special education team to ensure students thrive within our dynamic International Baccalaureate for All curriculum.
Responsibilities:
-Provide in-class support to students with IEPs, ensuring accommodations and modifications are effectively implemented.
-Establish meaningful rapport with students receiving inclusion support to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
-Review IEPs for students under inclusion support, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of student accommodations, content-specific goals, and progress monitoring.
-Document IEP math progress in collaboration with special education teachers.
-Maintain consistent communication with teachers and special education staff to discuss the academic progress and needs of students.
-Ensure that all accommodations, modifications, and teaching strategies outlined in students' IEPs are consistently provided in classrooms.
-Work with students during Study Skills classes to build foundational math skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and reinforce classroom learning.
-Attend departmental meetings, faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and in-service activities.
-Collaborate with the Special Education and Math Departments to develop and refine inclusive practices and support strategies.
-Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of the role.
-Undertake other responsibilities related to the position as assigned.
Salary : $35,000 - $52,000
