Position Overview
The Production Manager plays a key role in overseeing job accuracy, crew accountability, and on-site operations from project start to completion. This role is critical for maintaining high-quality installation standards, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering exceptional homeowner satisfaction. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills while coordinating crews, suppliers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Accuracy
- Confirm job details using EagleView, Roofr, Hover reports, and CompanyCam photos.
- Review CRM details, work orders, and sales notes to ensure accurate material orders.
- Collaborate closely with sales representatives and sales support specialists on critical job components.
- Verify order confirmations for correct product, color, and jobsite address.
Crew Accountability
- Build strong working relationships with all crew leaders and teams through consistent communication.
- Conduct job start walkthroughs to align on expectations and requirements.
- Ensure crews complete material check-ins to identify shortages or issues immediately.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols, including ladder safety and power line clearance.
- Log any issues, changes, or updates in CompanyCam with clear notes and photos.
- Perform job-end walkthroughs with the crew leader to confirm quality and completion.
Job Start & Homeowner Communication
- Lead initial jobsite walkthroughs to proactively identify potential issues.
- Serve as the homeowner’s primary point of contact during production, keeping them informed until turnover back to sales.
- Coordinate additional trades during overlapping project phases to maintain schedule momentum.
- Communicate proactively with neighbors and identify potential leads for the sales team.
Post-Installation
- Walk completed jobs with the crew leader the same day or by the following day.
- Collect signed completion forms from homeowners when possible.
- Ensure all closeout documentation and site cleanup are completed before final project closure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred, but not required.
- 5 years of experience in project or production management.
- 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in siding.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage crews, clients, and vendors.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality control.
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best construction practices.
- Must be willing and able to travel across job sites throughout Illinois with regular on-site presence.
