Role and Responsibilities
The Field Service Training Manager (FSTM) trains Retailer Service Technicians and Subaru University personnel on the technical operations, servicing, diagnosis, repair skills, and processes necessary to properly service and repair Subaru vehicles. Training activities include facilitating standard instructor-led courses at SDCs Area Training Centers (ATC) in Orangeburg and Canastota, NY. The ideal candidate will have an excellent grasp of multiple teaching techniques with solid presentation and facilitation skills.
The FSTM is also a resource for retailer management to assist with training plan development that achieves Subaru Technical Training Requirements (STTR) while fostering proper growth paths for technicians. The FSTM will collaborate with field staff to develop practical hands-on training that emulates emerging issues and strengthens diagnostic processes leading to technicians’ failure to fix vehicles right the first time (FRFT).
Skills/Qualifications
- Degree in Education or Automotive Service with 6-8 years of automotive experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronics operation, diagnostic and critical thinking skills
- Outstanding verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Teams.
- Must be able to operate Manual Transmission Vehicles.
- Valid Driver’s License.
