DAY-TO-DAY CUSTODIAN

REPORTS TO:          
The Custodian will work under the supervision of the Building Principal and Head Custodian.

JOB GOALS:                
To provide students with a safe, clean, and efficient place to learn, play, and develop.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Certification of good health by a licensed physician.
2. Demonstrated apptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilties.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

EMPLOYMENT:             
12 month work year

SALARY:                      
Based on the bargaining unit contract for non-certified personnel

MAIN DUTIES:         

1. Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all time.
2. Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
3. Shovels, plows, and/or sands walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
4. Checks daily to ensurethat all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
5. Sweep classrooms daily and dusts furniture.
6. Cleans corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it.
7. Scrubs, hoses down, and disinfects bathroom floors daily and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.

EVALUATION:            
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Building Principal and Director of Buildings and Grounds.
