The Role Service Technician in Technology Services
The Service Technician is responsible for the technical repair and service work for a wide range of low voltage systems. They provide diagnostic review, repair, and replacement of parts as well as the replacement and installation of equipment.
Key responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing system upgrades, managing inventories of tech equipment, and assisting with software installations and updates. This role requires proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software problems, customer service skills, and a strong understanding of technology tools. A strong focus on communication and problem-solving is essential in this role.
What You'll Do as a Service Technician in Technology Services
- Assists with maintaining customer relationships based on dependability and honesty. Ensures that long term customer relationships are protected by providing value added services and effective communication, bridges communications between customers personnel and Suburbans team members.
- Functions in all building types and customer markets; industrial, commercial, residential; maintains GMPs and safety requirements as required, knows construction methods and related codes in each area of industry.
- Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing resolution; performing acceptance tests and commissioning.
- Reviews work orders and job files for all pertinent data including job layout drawings, specifications and other technical data as required for a more efficient service, inspections and installations.
- Troubleshoots and identifies malfunctioning or inoperative equipment and cause of failure on systems including CCTV, Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm, Card Access, Paging, Structured Cabling and any future systems supported in the Technology Division, using electronic testing equipment and electronic theory.
