What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Coordinator position at Suburban Hospital?
As the Adolescent Addiction Treatment Coordinator, you will take the lead in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to adolescents struggling with substance use. You'll play a vital role in:
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments
- Facilitating engaging and impactful group and individual therapy sessions
- Developing individualized treatment plans and managing cases from intake to discharge
- Coordinating referrals and ensuring seamless discharge planning
- Administering and interpreting weekly urine drug screens
- Collaborating with families, schools, and other care providers to ensure holistic, wraparound support
- Leading Level 1 outpatient substance abuse treatment and two adolescent-focused educational programs
- Maintaining clear, timely documentation and contributing to monthly program reporting
Who You’ll Work With:
You’ll report directly to the Program Operations Manager and work alongside a multidisciplinary team of professionals who share your commitment to adolescent behavioral health. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
What You’ll Bring:
- Active LCSW-C or LCPC license in Maryland (required)
- 1–3 years of experience working with adolescents (preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in substance use treatment (preferred)
- A passion for youth advocacy, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to build trust quickly with teens and families
