What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Subway?
The Assistant Manager supervises restaurant staff and daily operations to ensure that food safety, product preparation, cleanliness and inventory control standards are maintained. Schedules and supervises staff.
Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Exceptional guest service is a major component of this position.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following):
- Performs all tasks and responsibilities of a Shift Lead as outlined in the Shift Lead Position description including providing a great customer experience while making sandwiches, operating the register, and following all food and sanitation guidelines.
- As needed, supervises food preparation to ensure that food safety and operations standards are maintained.
- Coordinates and supervises staff so that standards of cleanliness are maintained as outlined in the SUBWAY ® Operations Manual.
- Assists in managing location team. Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Provides feedback to manager on overall team performance.
- Trains newer or less experienced Sandwich Artists ® in their tasks and responsibilities.
- Performs paperwork duties and assists with product orders and inventory as needed.
- Assists with planning of special events and promotions.
- Completes University of SUBWAY ® courses as directed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in restaurant operations with supervisory experience preferred.
- Requires excellent communication skills, ability to deal with all levels of team members.
- Computer knowledge is desirable.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday.
- Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and up to 65 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.
Availability Requirements:
- Must have flexible availability for scheduling
- Must be available for both opening and closing shifts
- Must be able to work beyond scheduled hours as business requires
