What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trail Crew Level 2 position at SUGAR BOWL SKI RESORT?
This is a hands-on position which consists of a multitude of duties including; hiking, shoveling, brush cutting, raking, firewood cutting, tree trimming, drilling and blasting labor needs, maintaining Mountain Operations departmental equipment, advanced sawyer duties and heavy equipment operation. Assist with summer lift evacuation as needed including hiking, climbing ladders and use of rescue rope. Trail Crew Members may also assist other departments including Summer Revenue and Resort Services.
To provide a safe working environment and ensure consistent daily operations, Sugar Bowl Resort is requiring that all staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of November 15, 2021.

- Able to work at heights, climbing and rope skills as needed for lift evacuation
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Complete all duties as safely and efficiently as possible.
- Highly proficient in all Trail Crew Level 1 skills
- Hiking, shoveling, brush cutting, raking, firewood cutting, tree trimming, drilling and blasting labor.
- Ability to work on steep and variable terrain.
- Assist Mountain Operations departments which may include snowmaking maintenance, vehicle and lift maintenance and a variety of tasks related to current capital projects.
- Assist Resort Services and Summer Revenue departments as needed.
- Assist with summer lift evacuation as needed including hiking, climbing ladders and use of rescue rope.
- Trail Crew Level 2
- Sawyer experience and the ability to fell small to medium trees.
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, excavator, loader, chipper, etc.
- Some welding experience preferred.
- Serve as a ground leader in a lift evacuation as needed including excellent communication skills, hiking, climbing ladders and use of rescue rope.
- Assist Patrol in a summertime rescue scenario.
