Job Description:
Sugar Lakes Family Practice is a comprehensive medical group, caring for patients of all ages. We are seeking a positive, hardworking, and dependable Appointment Scheduler to join our team and provide excellent customer service to our patients! The ideal professional answers inbound telephone calls for multiple providers, ensures patient satisfaction by effectively and accurately relaying and documenting information, and maintains appropriate tone and professional language in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, verbal and written, the ability to speak clearly and accurately, and proficiency in handling high call volumes and requests in a healthcare setting is essential.
Appointment Scheduler responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Serves as the liaison for internal/external healthcare providers and entities as it related to answering inbound calls from patients, providers and organizations.
- Identifies patient/caller and appropriately handles their request in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
- Forwards caller to appropriate departments and/or personnel, takes accurate messages, and relays information to appropriate departments and/or personnel.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team atmosphere.
- Exhibits flexibility in handling unusual situations, initiative, and performs additional duties as assigned with a positive attitude. May be required to flex/change schedule and work overtime at the discretion of the supervisor.
- Required Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED
One (1) year experience in a physician’s office or healthcare facility
One (1) year EMR experience
Detail-oriented, organized, and ability to multi-task
Ability to tactfully handle the public, excellent phone etiquette, and strong customer service experience
Ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions, with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain strict confidentially per company policies and applicable regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) to five (5) years call center experience in a family practice physician’s office or healthcare facility
One (1) year experience with eCW
