Job Description
The Floater/Assistant Teacher will assist in the implementation of a program to teach young children. The qualified individual should be able to assist Lead Teachers in various classrooms. The candidate must be able to collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to maintain the well-being of the center and students.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Keep a group of children under control
- Engage children in educational activities
- Implements curriculum in accordance to guidelines
- Assist in organizing the classroom
- Maintains ratios and keeps attendance records throughout the day
- Uses varies instructional materials as well circle time in accordance to the lesson plans
- Planning and carrying out conferences with the parents of the children in the class
- Maintains a safe, clean and healthy environment
- Manages classroom by setting rules and limits
- Communicates in a respectful and child-friendly tone with children
- Maintaining the records that are required by center policy
- Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding children and their families
