Primary Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Student Assistant in the Office of Civic Engagement & Student Assistance will support the Coordinator of New Student programs in planning and implementation of programs designed to welcome and engage new student and their families. This role assists with major campus events such as orientation, Homecoming, Family Day, promotes campus traditions, and supports marketing efforts through social media, video, and other outreach tools. This position provides hands on experience in event planning, student engagement, and campus programming.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing new student events and activities, including Orientation, Homecoming, and Family Day.
  • Support event logistics such as setup, registration, check-in, and on-site support.
  • Help promote and uphold campus traditions and spirit initiatives.
  • Support activities or projects that foster a sense of belonging and connection for new students and families.
  • Assist with creating and editing content for social media platforms.
  • Support marketing efforts through videos, digital graphics, flyers, and other promotional materials.
  • Support marketing efforts for events, programs, and resources through flyers, digital graphics, social media and campus outreach.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the Lobo Pantry including marketing, social media, data entry, record keeping, inventory, and food distribution.
  • Drive university vehicle to transports students from main campus to RAS or other Alpine locations.
  • Greet and assist visitors to the office, creating a welcoming and inviting environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
