QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Services, Community Health, or an exercise related field
Experience/Skills
- Minimum of one year experience as a trainer
- Minimum of one year computer experience
- Exhibits customer service experience
- Demonstrates skills in fitness assessment, exercise program design, and instruction
- Understands the requirements of special populations
- Maintains good working relationships with employees and customers
- Possesses effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Health Coaching certificate within three months of hire date
- Personal Trainer Certification or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (optional)
- CPR
- AED
Working Conditions
- Works in a well-lit area with good ventilation
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift up to 45 pounds
- Physical activity required
ROUTINE RESPONSIBILITIES
Behavioral Expectations
- Consistently complies with established Behavioral Expectations
Health Coaching/Wellness Programming
- Schedules clients/patients using Athena and other platforms
- Accurately charts all scheduled appointment notes, results, etc.
- Actively engages in wellness-based programs in the Sullivan Health & Wellness network
- Works alongside another Wellness Specialist to create and implement Health Coaching programming, education, and overall Health Coaching outline/structure
- Reports directly to the Fitness Center Director with client information, event updates, and other day-to-day responsibilities
- Works with hospital employees, school corporation employees, hospital events, Be Healthy events, and group settings
Training/Instruction/Education
- Possesses knowledge of appropriate assessments for all populations
- Instructs clients/members of proper form related to fitness level and physical ability
- Assists members on the floor with proper form and equipment use
- Provides handouts on various information and programs for clients/members
- Develops and implements fitness programs
- Programs workouts, tracks progress, and reviews activity tracker in the Team Builder app
Miscellaneous Duties
- Completes all other duties and responsibilities assigned (i.e., designing flyers and educational/promotional pieces for Be Healthy and Wellness)
- Assists the other Wellness Specialist and Fitness Center Director with tasks and assignments when needed
Day Shift
80 hrs./Bi-Weekly
Salary : $31,600 - $40,000
