What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upward Bound Summer Mentor position at sulross?
Mentor/RA’s will be asked to work 19 hours per week (mainly nights 6pm-10pm). We would like to have at least two (or more) mentors on duty at a time and others can join activities or do normal college things if they choose. Mentors will also be needed to attend any weekend trips with the campers; once again, not everyone has to attend. Mentors will be tasked with making sure the students are up for their classes and group activities. They will also be responsible for leading and assisting with group/team activities during the evening sessions. When students are placed in groups, it will be the mentors’ responsibility to ensure that all the students are participating and paying attention during events. Upward Bound Week on the Road - (Leave July 10th @ 11am – Return July 14th @ 5pm)Mentors will not be paid for the week on the road trip to Austin/San Antonio and are not required to attend but everything will be free if they would like to attend.
