Knowledge, skills and abilities needed are:
- Ability to weld in a variety of positions.
- Knowledge of aluminum, stainless and carbon steels and the various processes of welding them.
- Layout, fit & weld fabricated components.
- Lift heavy objects and work in a variety of awkward positions, while bending, stooping, or standing to perform work.
- Flux, stick, MIG, TIG, carbon arc and full pen.
- Understand repair techniques.
- Press, heat, shrink assemblies.
- Positive workplace attitude and ability to work well with others.
- Ability to read and understand complex blueprints.
