SMBC is in the process of leading a Digital Transformation across our Americas Division as we continue to modernize our technology, focus on our data driven approach, grow and plan for the future.
As a result of this expansion we are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our Technology Group. Here you will work closely with our Risk Department stakeholders to build out our strategic data sourcing, datamart, analytics and reporting frameworks. This team is expanding as we continue to provide more capabilities for our business users. This is an opportunity to partner with and learn the business while working with newer technology.
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $103,000 and $206,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
- Ensuring that programs are written to the highest standards (e.g. Unit tests) and technical specifications.
- Working directly with our Business Users on their requirements.
- Working closely with other Shared Services Functions within Technology such as the QA, DBA and Infrastructure Teams.
- Working closely with our Production Support Team to help diagnose/resolve any reported issues.
- 10 years of prior software development experience ideally centered around Python.
- Prior experience with Building/Deploying containerized software (preferably Python) on modern DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with MS-SQL or other SQL (or No-SQL) database architectures.
- Basic familiarity with Financial Risk Management concepts.
- Experience with Agile (and SDLC) Methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Science Degree (or equivalent).
It would be helpful if you have:
- Experience using modern data science, data rangling, modelling, analytic and RPA software platforms (e.g. Anaconda, Databricks, Domino, Altryx, TriFacta, UI Path, DataRobot).
- Experience building and deploying solutions on Cloud Platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience working in the Banking/Hedge Fund industry.
Salary : $103,000 - $206,000
