Overview
SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. (CM) is a derivatives trading company which was established in 1986 and is based in New York, with offices in London, Hong Kong and Frankfurt. CM is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and foreign exchange products such as interest & FX swaps, FRAs, options, exotic products, commodity derivatives as well as exchange traded products such as treasury bonds, interest rate futures & options, currency futures, treasury futures & options, etc.
CM is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant. The role will mainly support the Derivative Marketing team and Financial Institution Sales team of CM(Front Office). and occasionally be a secretarial assistant of CM Management which include liaising with other departments and entities of SMBC based in the Americas Division and Tokyo Head Office.
The role will report to the Managing Directors, Head of Marketing and Head of FI Sales of CM. A wide range of communication skills, including but not limited to communication with team members of Marketing, other CM staff, and occasionally with, Americas Division will be required.
Responsibilities
Administrative support for the Marketing team and Financial Institution Sales team of CM including but not limited to;
- Travel & expense management
- Printing & binding presentation material
- Assist Group head with daily functions
- Coordinate meetings
- Assist with daily and weekly internal reports
- Ad hoc reports and functions as requests to assist the desk.
Occasionally support the Management of CM which includes:
- Management schedule coordination
- Visitors’ travel and meeting coordination
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 1~ year of work experience supporting a team is strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, and strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- Expertise in Microsoft suite of applications and ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Concur application experience is preferred
- Bilingual Japanese language skills are preferred
