Summit County Public Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Dietetic Technician to work full-time (35 hours per week), Monday through Friday, in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. The Dietetic Technician plays a vital role in improving the nutritional health of individuals and families in our community. This position works under the supervision of a registered and licensed Dietitian to provide nutrition education, client support, and community referrals in alignment with WIC program policies.

Key Responsibilities :
- Perform intake, schedule appointments, and greet clients to ensure an efficient clinic flow.
- Explain the WIC Program, rights, and responsibilities to participants during certification and recertification appointments.
- Determine eligibility of clients through health and nutrition screening, including performing height, weight, and hemoglobin measurements.
- Identify and document nutrition risks in low-risk clients and provide appropriate nutrition education.
- Refer high-risk clients to the Registered Dietitian (RD) for assessment and food package assignment.
- Provide breastfeeding assessments, education, and support; promote breastfeeding as the norm for infant feeding.
- Assign food packages based on client needs or refer clients to an RD for approval.
- Refer clients to health care providers, community resources, and support service programs as appropriate.
- Prepare client charts, review prenatal packets, and assist non-English-speaking participants using tele-interpreter services.
- Design and distribute nutrition and wellness education materials for use in clinics and community programs.
- Maintain cleanliness of the WIC clinic, waiting areas, and laboratories, ensuring compliance with agency policies.
- Participate in staff, program, and community meetings as assigned.
