What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Coroner position at Summit County Government (CO)?
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented with college level coursework in related fields such as criminal justice, law enforcement, forensic science, biology or medical-related.
- Minimum one year death investigation experience in Medicolegal capacity or one-year medical professional experience.
- Must pass background check including criminal history.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
- Possession of a valid Colorado driver’s license at time of hire and throughout employment.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within one year, Death Investigation Academy Certificate and Colorado Coroners Association certification.
- Must take FEMA Incident Command Systems 100, 200, 700 and 800 at a minimum.
