Summary

Under the general direction of the Program Director and Deputy Program Director, the Program Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and operational support and managing assigned Summit County Land Bank (“SCLB”) programs and projects related to the SCLB’s mission and role in the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Program Assistant is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative, operational, and logistical support to assigned programs and projects for the SCLB. Typical areas of responsibility for this position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Program & Project Implementation & Execution
  • Program Application Processing, Review, and Approval
  • Property Acquisition & Disposition
  • Property Complaint & Referral Processing
  • Conducting research, collecting, analyzing, and presenting data and reports
  • Data entry, compliance, and reporting
  • Site Selection Assistance
  • Providing high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders and the public

 

The Program Assistant may be required to represent the SCLB in the community and regularly interact with local, state, federal, nonprofit, and private stakeholders, and the public, and will be required to perform any other duties or functions that may be necessary and in the best interests of the efficient operations of the SCLB.

 

Education and/or Experience

This position is entry-level and requires a High School Diploma and 0- 2 years of experience. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, certification, and experience may be considered.

  • Motivated self-starter, an eagerness to learn and excel, and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and the ability to maintain a professional image
  • Extremely organized, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Good judgment, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality

 

 

Use of Electronic Resources

This position requires an above-average proficiency and comfort level in using, learning to use, or adapting to, electronic resources and other technologies. The SCLB is a ‘paperless’ office.

 

Travel

The Program Specialist must be able to travel to attend conferences, trainings, meetings, and other events, as required, to acquire and maintain proficiency in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.  Some evening and weekend work may be required.

 

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $35,000 and $45,000 annually. The Summit County Land Bank offers an extremely competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) retirement plan with a generous match, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance programs, PTO, paid holidays, and an employer-paid Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).

 

Not a Public Position

The Summit County Land Bank is a nonprofit community improvement corporation, organized pursuant to Chapter 1724 and 1702 of the Ohio Revised Code. This position is not a “public” position and does not participate in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
