What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Dentist position at Summit Dental of La Mesa?
General Dentist needed for an established, private, group practice in La Mesa. We are looking for 2 or 4 days from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are a fun, talented and hard working team with state of the art equipment. Our goal is to provide the absolute best whole health dentistry while enjoying a positive and prosperous work environment. Potential to purchase practice in 2-3 years.
Our office provides the following technology:
- Cerec Prime Scan
- Milling Machine
- CBCT iCat
- Implant handpiece
- PRF centrifuge
- Dexis Digital X-rays
- intraoral cameras
- Oral DNA testing
We have talented and experienced hygienists and dental assistants as well as scheduling and financial coordinators to assist you. As an established practice we have a full schedule of wonderful patients. We are a patient centric practice that is not corporately owned.
Dentist applicant must support and perform both preventative and evidence based dentistry as well as be able to confidently diagnose, present and educate patients on treatment recommendations. In addition one must be motivated in pursuing continuing education and constant improvement.
Must have the following skills and be confident in their ability to perform the following:
- Most oral surgery procedures including implant placement
- Restorative and Cosmetic dentistry.
- Removable Dentures
- Endodontic treatment of anterior and bicuspid teeth.
- Restoring Implants.
- Use of nitrous oxide
- Give almost pain free injections.
- Comfortable with using Cerec scanner and doing same day crowns.
- Must show continuing improvement of knowledge and skill through CE courses.
- An attitude that “What is best for the patient is priority”.
- Must have excellent clinical skills.
- Must have a prevention philosophy
- Must be a team player and work well with others.
- Able to effectively communicate to patient reasons for treatment and priority of treatment.
Our Philosophy is that we ask patients what they want to hear based on the following treatment phases.
- 1) Chief complaint
- 2) Mandatory treatment (Decayed, Infected, Broken, Missing)
- 3) Optional treatment (Preventive, Cosmetics)
- 4) Quality of life issues (Sleep, TMD, Orthodontics, All on 4) – can be chief complaint.
We treatment plan based on these phases. It is our responsibility to inform patients what we see and communicate what it means to them in a way they understand. However, it is the patient’s choice to do all of the treatment, some of it, or none of it. We do not pressure patients to do treatment.
Plus for an applicant if experienced in or interest in taking courses in:
- Oral Sedation (Certification)
- Clear Aligner Orthodontics.
- Treating sleep apnea and TMD patients.
Compensation is negotiable. Percentage with daily guarantee. Who covers lab costs is also negotiable. We are not a corporate dental office.
