Description:
- Leadership in developing building and district plans to support EL students.
- Testing Coordination with the OELPS, OELPA , ALT OELPA
- Educate staff on the guidelines for ALT OELPA and accommodations
- El District Needs Assessments and development of plans to reach goals
- Develop plans for Identification, Reclassification, and Monitoring of English Learners
- Managing district level interpreters
- Supporting EL Teachers in curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Fostering positive communication strategies with new families
- Exploring community resources to support the families
- Plan and implement professional development for staff each month
- Develop the Summit County EL PLC
- Share state updates and guidelines from the office for English Learners with EL staff in the district
- Work with the EMIS coordinator for coding of the EL students
- Attend the TESOL Conference
- Work with building administrators to support teachers in providing appropriate programming for our newcomers
- Adhering to EL guidelines and documentation for state auditing purposes
- Budgeting for EL professional development, resources, and family programming
