What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Setter - 1st Shift position at Summit Plastic Molding?
Summit Plastic Molding is a plastic injection molding company, we have been in business for over 30 years and are growing in the automotive industry.
We are seeking a full time Mold Setter for 1st shift; 6:00am - 2:30pm in a clean and safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Sets up and adjusts automatic injection molding machine following process cycle sheets, mold water diagrams, and utilizing knowledge of machine functions.
Reads specifications to determine machine set up and prescribed temperature and time settings.
Positions, aligns, and secures assembled mold or mold components and machine accessories onto machine.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Using hoist, power tools and hand tools, sets up molds onto machine press bed according to guide marks.
Attaches connecting lines, such as, air, oil, or water to mold and adjust controls to regulate mold temperature.
Supports shift foreman to provide maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process and quality system.
Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for the appropriate set up and removal of molds.
Supports shift foreman to provide preventive maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
Appropriately identifying molds as ok to run, needs preventive maintenance or needs repair.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Must have own tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Appropriate knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment associated with mold settings.
Mechanical ability as well as physical strength and agility.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other employees.
