What are the responsibilities and job description for the Podcast Producer position at SUMO?
What you’ll do
You’ll be the founding producer.
• Designing the podcast vision and format
• Booking and producing the first 20 high-caliber guests
• Shaping episode concepts and conversation flow
• Building a repeatable production and publishing system
• Turning every episode into high-performing short-form content
• Overseeing social distribution and growth
• Working with editors to create scroll-stopping clips
• Using data to improve retention, reach, and monetization
• Helping turn the podcast into a real business asset, not just a “brand play”
You’ll work directly with a top-tier creator and an in-house media team.
Creative freedom, real ownership, and zero bureaucracy.
Who we’re looking for
• Proven podcast or show production experience
• Strong guest booking and episode development skills
• Deep understanding of YouTube, Reels, TikTok, Shorts
• A sharp instinct for what makes a conversation clip-worthy
• Experience working with creators, founders, or media personalities
• The ability to run projects autonomously, start to finish
• A growth revenue mindset (not just “let’s ship episodes”)

• Helped launch a podcast or channel from scratch
• Worked in the creator economy
• Built media that actually converts, not just gets downloads
