Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the inspection and basic upkeep of the building and equipment to include electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as forklifts, cranes, and powered tools. The position is also responsible for daily waste removal, drywall repairs, and painting in the office space.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carefully read manuals of equipment and interpret them to understand how to operate and maintain them properly.
  • Abide by safety regulations and complete daily safety checklist.
  • Carry out routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Basic building repairs, such as paint, dry wall repairs, etc.
  • Basic building maintenance, such as sweep, dust, vacuum, replace light bulbs, trash, etc.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to determine specific malfunctioning issues and tackle them accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance procedures for various equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of forklift, scissor lift, boom lift or cranes.
  • Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot.
  • Knowledge of plumbing basics.
  • Good time management.
  • Knowledge of air compression basics.
  • Ability to provide and handle basic hand tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical basics.
  • Ability to work at heights of 40 feet or more.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Good communication and teamwork with multiple departments.
