Position Summary:
The Executive Director will serve as the strategic and operational leader for the satellite outpatient campus and services as an extension of the main hospital. This center provides services that include intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) services to children, adolescents, and adults. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all associated operations, clinical programming, community partnerships, staff supervision, and compliance with regulatory standards. In addition to the satellite campus itself, the Executive Director will oversee all community-based programs associated with the extension campus, including school-embedded programs/services and remote/satellite assessment initiatives across the region. Responsible for the oversight of all clinical treatment programs of patients receiving treatment for psychiatric, and substance abuse issues in outpatient settings. The Executive Director assures that high quality clinical care is provided and that the clinical functions are integrated. Director supervises individual and group counseling and develops and implements a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities/processes. Oversees discharge planning to ensure an optimal post outpatient transition. Responsible for ensuring that clinical documentation is current and accurate and meets all regulatory and other standards.

Leadership and strategy:
· Provide visionary leadership in alignment with the mission and values of SUN.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to expand and enhance behavioral health services.
· Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.
· Serve as a key liaison to community stakeholders, school districts, referring providers, and regional partners.
· Represent the center at public events, forums, and hospital leadership meetings.
Collaborate with the hospital’s marketing and development teams to promote services and secure growth opportunities.
Operational Oversight:
· Direct daily operations of the outpatient behavioral health center, ensuring efficient delivery of IOP and PHP services.
· Oversee administrative functions including budget development, financial performance, scheduling, facilities management, and technology infrastructure.
· Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, state regulations, and payer requirements.
Personnel Management:
· Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing interdisciplinary team of clinicians, program staff, and support staff.
· Provide regular supervision, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.
· Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and collaboration among team members.
· Assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning and scheduling/assigning on an on-going workload assignments, adjusting programs and project priorities
· Responsible for positive employee relations approach including performance evaluations, rewarding and addressing performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems with staff.
Clinical:
· Responsible for overall clinical development of all outpatient clinical programs and staff
· Supervise, train and oversee staff development of all outpatient clinical staff (LCSWs, MSWs) and unlicensed employees while working in conjunction with the program management employees.
· Supervise the utilization review process and OP UR Coordinator
· Oversee and evaluate outpatient clinical case consultations being executed by clinical staff to ensure effective service delivery
· Program development and evaluation to ensure that programs are effective, efficient and consistent with the organization’s mission, values and goals
· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
· Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Health Administration, or a related field required.
· Additional MBA, MHA, or equivalent leadership training is a plus.
· CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification.
· A knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles.
· Preferred: Mental health professional license in the state of employment to conduct individual/group psychotherapy (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, PhD, etc)
· Maintains education and development appropriate for position.
Experience
· Required: 7 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health, including inpatient, outpatient, IOP, or PHP settings
· Previous experience in outpatient healthcare.
· Preferred: Previous experience in a free-standing psychiatric setting/facility.
