JOB TITLE : Railroad Driver
LOCATION : Grand Prairie, TX
REPORTS TO : Railroad Operations Manager
SCHEDULE : Nights, 5x3, 5x2 schedule. Some overtime and weekends required.
WAGES : Hourly. Commensurate with skills and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow delivery instructions, and maintain compliance with all DOT, company and customer safety and operational policies and procedures
- Properly load and unload product at various customer locations in a professional, courteous, timely, safe, and efficient manner
- Connect and disconnect hoses, operating pumps and valves for loading and unloading, safely filling tanks using various size hoses, nozzles and fittings
- Use onboard technology as instructed (Smartlogix, Samsara)
- Complete paperwork accurately and timely, if applicable
- Comply with Sun Coast's accident and incident reporting procedures for accidents and spills
- Other related tasks as assigned by manager

Must live within 60 miles of terminalMinimum age 23Valid class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements, a good driving record and a good understanding of DOT regulationsMust have 1 year liquid bulk or 2years commercial driving experienceMust be able to pass background screening including MVR and criminalMay be subject to comply with site specific drug testing requirements which may include hair follicle drug testingMust have some mechanical and electrical aptitudeMust have a professional appearance and attitude, and abide by the company dress code policyMay be required to lift objects weighing 50 poundsStable employment historyAbility to exert 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 25-50 pounds of force frequently, and / or 10-20 pounds of force constantlyAbility to bend, sit, squat, stand, crawl, walk, and reach above shoulderAbility to work in extreme weather conditions for 12 to 18 hours per dayMust be able to use three points of access getting in and out of the tractor, multiple times a dayMust be able to climb up steps to verify tank compartments as neededMust be able to work safely in uneven or muddy surfacesAble to work nights, weekends and an extended work week - overnight and / or out of town travel may be requiredGood basic math skills, and ability to communicate well in verbal and written fashionAbility to work well under pressure in a team environment and get along with othersMust be able to read, speak, write and communicate using the English language well enough to perform the job functionsStrong customer service skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, manage time, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentMust be able to meet all criteria for the eRailSafe program in order to access railroad properties.
