Job Description:
Sun Harbor is seeking a dedicated and organized Staffing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining daily staffing needs, coordinating schedules, and ensuring proper coverage of nursing units. Your duties will include maintaining records of tardiness and absenteeism, assisting employees with scheduling-related requests, and working closely with the Director of Nursing Services (DON) and Human Resources. You will also prepare payroll for the nursing department, handle staffing variances, and help resolve staffing issues and concerns. As the Staffing Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the effective management of the department, ensuring proper staffing levels and fostering a supportive, team-driven atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a current list of nursing department employees' contact information.
- Track daily attendance and tardiness; report issues to the DON.
- Collaborate with HR and DON on modified duty schedules.
- Assist employees in completing forms for scheduling and staffing.
- Prepare and post monthly nursing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding staffing and scheduling.
- Ensure new hires have ID, time cards, and schedules prior to orientation.
- Assist in resolving staffing and scheduling issues with department staff.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and maintain accurate records of certifications and licenses.
- Serve as backup to the Unit Secretary in their absence.
- Staff units according to established pars and census adjustments, minimizing overtime.
- Prepare payroll for nursing department staff and agencies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Staffing Coordinator in a nursing facility.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a team environment.
