What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver position at Sun Noodle?
The Delivery Driver position is part of the warehouse/logistics team. Sun Noodle Drivers are the first point of contact to all customers and therefore expected to smile, be courteous, and always friendly. The majority of work will be to check all products for accuracy against quality standards and deliver products to customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner while working as part of a team. In addition, the Driver supports the company by performing other workstation duties as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are in addition to the rules of conduct and house rules contained in the driver regulations manual of SUN NOODLE. All employees are expected to govern their activities and behavior by the rules of conduct in their relations with the company, fellow employees, supervisors, and customers. The following list of responsibilities is not intended as a complete and exhaustive list, and management has the right to modify or add to the list as appropriate.
Duties Before and During the Work Shift
- Arriving at the office at least five (5) minutes prior to all meetings
- Conducting daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles
- Checking orders to be delivered for the day; calculating products to be packed, palletized and/or delivered
- Packing product merchandise, load into vehicle and check to ensure that sales invoices match merchandise and customer information
- (HI) Picking up empty Company’s plastic trays from customers from previous deliveries
- Notifying the office of any product shortages or of any incomplete deliveries
- Contacting the office for clarification if there is a question about an assignment
- Obtain customers’ signatures on receipt of merchandise, collecting Company’s invoice copy and any cash/check payments
- Monitoring traffic conditions to avoid delays
- Supporting the company by performing other workstation duties as needed (i.e., unloading containers, helping Packaging or Warehouse department, etc.)
Duties at the End of the Work Shift
- Completing assignment and mileage reports immediately following the end of each workday
- Submitting all sales invoices, cash, money, checks, gas receipt and daily delivery log sheet
- Return assigned hand trucks, tape guns, date label guns and other Company tools in their designated area
- Emptying the assigned vehicle on a daily basis, including delivery container and trash
- Washing assigned vehicle at least once a week and maintaining its cleanliness
- Inspect and regularly perform maintenance tasks on the vehicle, such as necessary fluids, oil, tire pressure, lights etc. Report any major maintenance/repairs to the management
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of experience as a delivery driver
- Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card
- Valid type 3 driver’s license
- Good driving record with no traffic violations; clean abstract
- Ability to operate forklifts in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Follows and understand state driving regulations, good driving manner
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Reads and interpret maps and GPS directions
- Able to lift to 50 lbs
- Always uses good manners and courtesy with customers
- Able to work individually and as a team
- Punctual
- Basic math skills
- Speaks and understands conversational English
