Responsibilities
- Perform alterations on garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and adjusting lengths.
- Repair damaged clothing by sewing or patching as needed.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their specific tailoring needs and provide expert advice on alterations.
- Operate sewing machines and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available.
- Keep accurate records of alterations and repairs completed for each customer.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and ensuring satisfaction with finished products.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tailoring or garment alteration is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques and fabric types.
- Proficiency in using sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating fabric requirements.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Experience in fashion retail is a plus but not required.
