What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Delivery Driver position at Sunnyview Gardens and Greenhouse?
Delivery Driver
Our line of work as a Greenhouse business as posted is seasonal hiring. We are looking for a person or persons to help us in delivering our spring plants and flowers first of March until the end of June. As well as September to the first of November for our fall season. We can also provide general labor work early in the season (January)to get you familiar with our business and the products you will be delivering. As well as start your on the job training.
Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle (26' box truck/26' truck and enclosed trailer) of Plants on rolling racks to designated locations
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and unload Carts and plants from the vehicle
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks ( Air tire pressure, oil and fluids, Fuel)
Skills:
- Experience driving various types of vehicles, such as box trucks, vans, or tractor-trailers
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers
- Familiarity with Greenhouse operations and procedures (Onsite training)
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and best practices
- Ability to navigate using GPS or maps to locate delivery destinations
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
- Physical stamina and strength to load and unload Carts and plants. ( Unloading carts from trucks and trailers can be a very physical task.) Trucks do come with fold down ramps and box trucks have lift gates for easy off loading!
