We’re seeking a self-motivated and hands-on Solar Installation Technician to join our field teams. You’ll be the boots on the roof and the brains behind the build—installing, maintaining, and fine-tuning solar PV systems that power homes, businesses, and places of worship. Duties
System Installation & Assembly
- Interpret layout plans, site surveys, and blueprints to execute precise solar array installations.
Site Preparation & Cleanup
- Prepare job sites: ensure access, assess structural conditions, and assist with load handling (ladders, panels, hardware).
- Maintain clean and safe worksites, properly store materials and equipment, and complete site close-out documentation.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar PV components, including panels, inverters, wiring, and monitoring devices.
- Diagnose electrical or mechanical issues in the field, resolve malfunctions, and escalate as needed.
- Install racking systems, attach solar panels securely to roofs or ground mounts, and seal penetrations to maintain roof integrity.
- Prepare, route, and connect DC and AC wiring systems in compliance with NEC, utility, and manufacturers standards.
- Conduct final quality checks and document site conditions accurately for client handoff.
- Interact professionally with customers—explain project timelines, answer questions, and uphold excellent communication.
- Collaborate with Install Leads, and Project Managers Project Managers, and Permit Coordinators to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
- Follow OSHA and company safety policies, including working at heights, proper PPE, and LOTO procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years hands-on experience installing or maintaining solar PV systems
- Knowledge of PV components, electrical wiring, grounding, and building code requirements.
- Comfortable working at heights, lifting up to 60 lbs, and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Familiar with tools including drills, crimpers, conduit benders, multimeters, and hand/power tools.
- Strong attention to detail; safety-focused mindset.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
Preferred
- NABCEP PV Installer certification, PV O&M Tech 1 Training, or equivalent
- Vocational training or apprenticeship in electrical/solar
- Prior Installation certifications with solar brands like (e.g., Tesla Powerwall, Enphase).
- OSHA 10/30 or similar safety certifications.
- Electrical helper or apprentice background.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
