What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Monitor position at SUNRISE MISSION?
Sunrise Mission is a Christian homeless shelter serving Northeast Michigan. We are seeking a House Monitor, Part Time to join our ministry. Schedules are variable but are usually swing shift (4 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) or weekends.
The House Monitor is an office position that requires several administrative skills such as basic office tasks (taking phone calls, sorting mail, faxing applications, etc...), working with Human Service professionals, social workers, and community members.
The House Monitor works with those in our community who are struggling with poverty and homelessness. You must be able to work with those who suffer from mental illness, addiction issues, and personal crisis. The successful candidate must have the ability to follow and firmly enforce rules, set limits for guests , maintain excellent boundaries, show compassion, and keep information under strict confidentiality. The right candidate must be good at multi-tasking, patient, an excellent communicator, and have the ability to stay calm when under pressure. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
