Come be a part of our team of dedicated educators. Sunrise Montessori School is a growing community of learners which serves children from three-years-old through 6th grade.
We are looking for an assistant teacher for our early childhood (3-6 years old) classrooms.
The Assistant Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, safe, healthy and nurturing classroom environment where self-direction is enhanced, independence encouraged and individuality respected. The Assistant Teacher works with the Lead to support the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of both the individual child and the class as a whole.
POSITION DETAILS:
- Guides children in positive choices and independence in their environment
- Works as a team with co-teachers
- recess and lunch duties at assigned times
- Support the lead teacher with transition times (getting students ready to go outside, washing hands, lining up)
- Light classroom cleaning
- Embraces the Montessori approach and the Sunrise Montessori mission statement (we can tell you more about the Montessori philosophy!)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Assistant teacher must meet the following basic requirements:
- CPR/First Aid certification (can be obtained upon hire)
- A clear record through background check
- Have the physical capacity to work with pre-school/Kindergarten aged children (lift up to 40 lbs)
- Willingness to be trained in the basics of the Montessori philosophy'
