Sunshine ABA Therapy is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) owned and operated organization that places Trauma-Informed ABA, positive behavioral support, and strengths-based holistic programming at the forefront of each hour of service implementation.

Sunshine ABA Therapy has several years of diverse experience working in the community, in schools, and across multiple centers to meet those diagnosed with Autism specific needs of all ages in sync with other medical providers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Work 1:1 with individuals diagnosed with Autism under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by applying Evidence-based behavior analytical techniques that increase communication, self-help, and social and play skills
  • Follow treatment plans prescribed by BCBAs while promptly communicating new, relevant information back to BCBAs to help refine plans
  • Capturing in the moment Learner motivation by tailoring activities/techniques to their preferences and developmental needs
  • Respond intentionally per Plan of Care (POC) to challenging behaviors utilizing SafetyCare training paired with ABA
  • Maintain accurate records of client progression via data collection and clinical notes while adhering to privacy and other requirements
  • Partner with BCBAs and clinical leadership to build relationships with families by providing effective, relatable, and accurate information
  • Prepare materials for upcoming therapy sessions
  • Support other Therapists as needed
  • Help with initiatives outside clinical role as requested
  • Support growth efforts by sharing job postings and participating in community outreach events
  • Toilet training and diaper changing required
  • Other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively work with individuals diagnosed with Autism (18 months-Pre-teens)
  • Implement individualized therapy programs to meet the unique needs of each person
  • Provide therapy to help individuals diagnosed with Autism to develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and cognitively utilizing naturalistic teachings via ABA principles
  • Cross collaboration trainings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • RBT certification and/or ability to complete all parts of training - https://www.bacb.com/rbt
  • CPR certification
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Maintain reliable transportation and safe driving record
  • A strong passion for learning, helping others, teaching, making a difference
  • Eager to learn a new foundation of thinking
  • Able to engage in an online course in conjunction with in-person trainings
  • An eagerness to be a part of a long term new career opportunity
  • A deep commitment to consistency of therapy sessions and professional growth for self
  • Carrying/Lifting/ability to "Get silly" with children
  • Running, crouching, squatting, and ability to kneel for sustained periods of time
  • Ability to move quickly from standing to seated, or kneeling position
  • Preferably degree seeking
  • Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License
