Duties:
- Provide medical care and support to residents, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and performing routine medical tests.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Engage with residents in meaningful conversations, promoting social interaction and helping to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that cater to each resident's unique needs and preferences.
- Support residents with dementia care, including managing behaviors and providing emotional support.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment, ensuring that all areas are tidy and free from hazards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and doctors, to ensure that residents receive the best possible care.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as managing medical records.
Experience:
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a retirement home or assisted living facility.
- Prior experience in dementia care or senior care is highly valued.
- Proven ability to lift and move residents safely and comfortably.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in working with people with developmental disabilities or a strong commitment to providing support to these individuals.
