Job Summary
As a Freight Broker, you will play a pivotal role in the logistics chain by facilitating the transportation of goods for our clients. This role focuses primarily on phone-based sales to source, negotiate, and secure shipping opportunities. You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you succeed in building strong client and carrier relationships, coordinating freight movements, and delivering excellent service.
Individuals with a cadence in sales management, account management, business management, business development, sales and phone sales are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Phone Sales & Outreach: Actively engage with manufacturers and distributors over the phone to secure freight opportunities, negotiate rates, and build lasting partnerships.
- Client Management: Develop and nurture relationships with shippers to understand their transportation needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Load Coordination: Manage the end-to-end process of freight movement, including scheduling pick-ups, tracking shipments, and confirming deliveries.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and capacity to provide competitive and informed service to clients.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any transportation issues, delays, or disruptions effectively to maintain service quality.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all transactions, freight contracts, and regulatory requirements are accurately documented and adhered to.
- CRM & Technology Use: Update systems with shipment details, track performance metrics, and maintain communication records.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, sales, or customer service is beneficial but not required.
- Comfortable with a high-volume phone sales environment and capable of building rapport over the phone.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in using freight management software and CRM tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
