The Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems (SICAS) Center located at SUNY Oneonta invites applications for the position of Remote Database Application Administrator. Expectations include providing application support (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting) for a number of SUNY campuses using the Banner software application.
SICAS is a SUNY-wide shared services program organized to provide software enhancements, technical support, best practices, and training for Ellucian's Banner software system to member campuses. This includes SUNY state operated and community college campuses and several associate member campuses made up of private colleges and universities in New York State. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing database application support to SICAS member campuses primarily during EST business hours, for SUNY campuses which includes:
- Performing software installations and upgrades to an Oracle-based Ellucian Banner software application
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Banner applications
- Providing direct customer support for Oracle and Banner technical issues.
- Some evening and/or weekend work is required as well as travel to meetings, conferences, and SICAS Center member campuses.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Three years of technical experience supporting Banner and/or Oracle
Additional:
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following:
- Ellucian's Banner Student Information System
- Using and configuring Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM)
- Other Oracle-based software installation
- Experience with Unix/Linux
- Technical support experience working with Tomcat, PL/SQL, Java
Preferred:
- Experience working with and serving diverse populations
- Evidence of excellent written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff by telephone and/or email
- Evidence of ability to manage multiple priorities.
