What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cancer Center Chaplain position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary:
This position will serve as the Lead Chaplain for Upstate's Cancer Centers at all locations, providing direct spiritual care, serving as a member of the ambulatory Palliative Care team, consulting with providers, and coordinating spiritual care for all Cancer Center patients, families and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Has completed four units of Association for Clinical Pastoral Education training, with at least one unit being Level II. One year experience working as a chaplain covering inpatient oncology and/or palliative care.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be Board Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains, or achieve this certification within two years of employment.
