What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Processing Manager position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Manager will be responsible for the management of the Sterile Processing Department, to include the day-to-day activities related to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, of sterile supplies to the Community OR. The Manager will develop a quality and safety improvement plan, work process standards, and performance goals to ensure optimal service delivery and patient care. Other responsibilities include staffing, training, performance management, compliance, and fiscal management of departmental assets.
Minimum Qualifications:
Central Sterile Processing Certification with 5 years experience in Sterile Processing, plus strong organizational, written/oral communication, interpersonal, and computer skills required. Supervisory experience required. 1-2 years of inventory control or budgetary experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Sterile Processing Management Certification Preferred.
